Bonding & Sealing Below the Waterline

Bonding & Sealing Below The Waterline

Bonding and sealing below the waterline has it’s own unique set of important considerations when choosing an appropriate adhesive sealant. Structural integrity, torsional stress of joints in adverse weather conditions, constant immersion in water, osmosis, galvanic corrosion and differing thermal expansion rates of dissimilar substrates are all factors which have to be addressed during any build process.

It’s imperative that any product used combines exceptional structural strength with outstanding elongation and tear performance whilst retaining the flexibility of the sealed joint as this is critical to allow the uniform distribution of joint stresses caused by shock, vibration, oscillations, swelling or shrinking.

Körapur 925 Marine

A one component, solvent free, polyurethane adhesive sealant. Designed specifically for bonding and sealing below the waterline in marine and boat building applications Körapur 925 Marine offers excellent adhesion to primed and painted metal substrates, as well as aluminium, wood and duroplastics. Permanently elastic once cured this high strength adhesive results in vibration resistant joint seals.

  •      International Maritime Organisation Wheel approved
  •      Excellent resistance to humidity and weathering
  •      Over-paintable, once cured
  •      High viscosity, non-sag properties
  •      Permanent elasticity, once cured

Korapur 940 Marine

A moisture curing, single component polyurethane adhesive sealant. Korapur 940 Marine shows good adhesion to a wide variety of substrates which include primed and painted metals, aluminium, wood, duroplastics, GRP and gel-coat. Offering permanent elasticity of joints, this high strength structural adhesive gives excellent resistance to humidity and weathering and is over-paintable once cured. Also available as a ‘Fast Cure’ option with a significant reduction in cure rate.

  •      International Maritime Organisation Wheel approved
  •      Excellent resistance to humidity and weathering
  •      Over-paintable, once cured
  •      High viscosity, non-sag properties
  •      Permanent elasticity, once cured
  •      Good adhesion to a wide variety of substrates

Note: Due to diversity of substrates, preliminary testing is always recommended.
